Elevated serum creatinine or hyperkalemia after ACEi/ARB

Estimate risk of elevated serum creatinine or hyperkalemia after ACEi or ARB initiation

About

Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEi) and angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARB) can increase the risk of kidney dysfunction and hyperkalemia. This calculator estimates the short-term risk of an increase in serum potassium to >5.5 mmol/L, a 30% increase in serum creatinine, or both within 30 days of ACEi or ARB initiation.

This equation was derived in two retrospective, population-based cohorts of adults in North America.
