Respiratory Adverse Event Risk Post Vascular Surgery

Estimate the risk of pneumonia or respiratory failure after vascular surgery

About

The Postoperative Respiratory Adverse Event Risk Calculator was created utilizing a cohort of 52,000 vascular surgery patients to estimate the incidence of post-operative respiratory adverse events (pneumonia or respiratory failure). This score was internally validated and externally validated with the National Inpatient Sample and National Surgical Quality Initiative Program.

The Society for Vascular Surgery Patient Safety Organization does not develop, maintain, or update this calculator and is not responsible for medical decisions that may be made based on estimates obtained from the calculator. Calculator estimates are provided for informational purposes only and are not meant to replace the advice of a physician or healthcare provider regarding diagnosis, treatment, or potential outcomes. Patients should always consult their physician or other health care provider before choosing an appropriate treatment plan.
