The selection and advantages and disadvantages of noniodinated contrast media are beyond the scope of these guidelines. Detailed discussions of all these techniques can be found in radiology textbooks and the radiology literature. The Work Group suggests that, in patients at increased risk for CI-AKI, the risks and benefits of iodinated contrast-media administration should be discussed with the radiologist.
